Day 27 - Move Your Body - Empowered Well-Being
Exploring new movement practices can do wonders for your overall well-being.
Whether it’s a structured workout, dancing like no one’s watching, stretching to your favorite tunes, or simply going for a walk outside, movement gets your body and mind in sync.
Physical activity helps manage stress, boosts mood, improves flexibility and balance, and supports better memory and cognition.
Plus, it increases muscle strength, improves glucose tolerance, and works wonders for self-esteem. It also bumps up those HDL (good) cholesterol levels while lowering LDL (not so good) cholesterol, reducing blood pressure, and lowering your resting heart rate. Not to mention, it helps lower the risk of chronic conditions and helps keep you feeling vibrant!
Here’s a little tip: The key is to move your body at least every 90 minutes. Just 2 minutes of walking around your office, apartment, or house can do more for you metabolically than sitting at your desk all day and then doing a 1-hour evening gym session.
How many of you are sat behind a screen all day, thinking, thinking, thinking... When was the last time you engaged your body into decision making? A few moments of movement throughout the day can make a big difference in how you feel, think, and process information. Bring your entire body to work, not just your head.
