Why sitting to eat matters

How many of you eat standing up, walking, or while on-the-go?

It’s more common than you might realize.

No matter what you’re eating, it’s so important to sit down and be present.

Recently, I hadn’t been shopping, so food was low at home, but I was able to grab a Pret bowl - which I’ve written about before.

Eating on-the-go forces your body to multi-process, which isn’t good for digestion or nutrient absorption.

When you sit down and fully engage with your meal - no smartphones, computers, or TV - just you and your food, along with any human company available - you maximize the nourishment your food provides.

Take a moment to express gratitude for whatever it is you’re eating; it can change your biochemistry and enhance your overall experience.

This overall practice gives your body space and calm to digest, leaving you more satisfied and energized.

Being fully present while eating allows your body to do what it’s meant to - nourish and heal.
